Get started on your winter bod with a true Barbarian's Feast to signal the end of summer. This meat- and whiskey-loaded evening at Main Street's Cascade Room is in its second year, and it's definitely a great opportunity to feed your inner barbarian.
The crew at the Cascade Room dreamed up this feast to appeal to those who want to unleash their primal appetites--much like a barbarian likes to do. Basically, go wild on some serious meaty eats.
First, let's talk grub: A buffet-style spread (think medieval "groaning board," i.e. a table so loaded with food the wood actually groans) complete with a 120 lb. whole roasted pig from Gelderman Farms in Abbotsford, plus irresistible offerings from Two Rivers Specialty Meats, like sausages, roast beef, turkey wings, game hens, and pork ribs.
Then there are the sides--potato salad, greens, and grilled corn on the cob. Oh, and chocolate chip cookies for dessert--if you manage to save room.
For libations, they'll have offerings that let you taste your way through the American Whiskey Trail, along with whiskey-infused ales from Main Street Brewing, and special whiskey cocktails crafted for the Feast.
