After a successful inaugural art exhibition in 2019, "Sticky: A Post-It Note Art Show" returns to the city.
Both adults and kids will be able to enjoy artwork made using sticky note paper on July 7 and 8.
Art lovers can converge and score pieces from local and international artists over the two-day show at the Burnout Cafe on East Hastings.
Every piece of Post-It artwork is up for sale, priced at $20 each.
Flavia, a local artist who is producing and curating the show, said in a media release that she can see that accessible spaces for artists and the art community in Vancouver are becoming less and less common.
“I want to be able to have a show where the art community can come together and enjoy artwork that is accessible both for artists to create, and for collectors to purchase,” said Flavia.
This year’s show features a wide range of talented established and emerging artists, painters, and illustrators specializing in a variety of styles and techniques.
Jeff Chiba Stearns, the animation director of the show said that he loves how the "Sticky Show" brings together hundreds of artists from across the city at one amazing event.
“With the incredible success of the first show, I’m confident that this popular art event will be a huge draw for the Vancouver art community for years to come,” said Chiba Stearns.
This year’s event will also have a more family-friendly day on Saturday, July 8 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be art stations set up for kids to make their own sticky note art with some of the participating artists.
Art submissions are now closed but the organizers plan on continuing "Sticky" as an annual event.
