An anime and kawaii themed event is taking place in Vancouver soon.
Along the likes of other popular anime and comic conventions like FanExpo and AniRevo, KawaiiCon will feature anime, manga, cosplay, comics, fandoms, K-pop, Sanrio, video games, and all things kawaii -- which is a Japanese term referring to things that are very cute.
The event will feature over 70 vendors, including local artists and small businesses, as well as a costume contest, sticker rally, and an Indigenous ceremony and acknowledgement at the start of the event.
Tickets are $5 but entry is free for those who show up in a costume and for children ages 12 and under with adult supervision.
All leftover funds from KawaiiCon will be donated to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
