I don't think I've ever seen lavender at the Farmers Market quite like this before. I thought this vendor display from the newly husband-and-wife team of Rachel and Noah was beautiful and therefor Vancouver is Awesome post-worthy.
Big buuckets of fresh bunches of lavender were just gorgeous, as were the sachets and these very cool lavender wands. Rachel explained that they were an ancient European art and she makes them herself. I have never seen them before; they're basically an adorable, decorative air freshener. Lavender season is now over but Rachel and Noah are making their final appearance today at the Kitsilano Farmers Market.
The perfume in the air was amazing. Bees were all over the place, and despite stepping on one earlier this week (!) I still have mad love for them.
I bought some lilies from Richard - 2 bunches for $5 is a total steal. After I bought them I noticed some broken stems and went back to exchange them... he gave me another whole bouquet! That's customer service.
Richard is all over the place and can be found weekly at the Main St, West End, and Kits markets. Check it out!
