One of the biggest shows streaming these days is coming to Vancouver.
While it was already known The Last of Us, HBO's massively popular post-apocalyptic zombie horror drama, would be moving to Vancouver for its second season, the writers' and actors' strikes delayed that. With both strikes over, productions are returning to locations across North America.
However, a date for the start of production has been revealed via a listing on the Film and Television Industry Alliace's website: Jan. 7, 2024.
The listing doesn't reveal much beyond that, other than some of the names associated with the production, including Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the show's two leads. Where specifically in and around Vancouver the show's season two will be shot has not been revealed.
"The Last of Us" shot its previous season in Calgary, where millions of dollars were spent on each episode. The arrival of the production in Vancouver is expected to bring hundreds of new jobs throughout its shooting schedule here, along with disruptions.
