A summer-long festival will pop up in Vancouver starting this month.
The 100 Days of Summer event will kick off in the South Granville neighbourhood with a weekly food truck fiesta, followed by live music events, yoga sessions, community activities, markets, and dining experiences.
Food trucks will roll into the neighbourhood at Fir Street and West 10th Avenue every Friday between noon and 7 p.m. from June 2 to Aug. 25. Each week will see a new lineup of tasty treats, savoury bites, and cool snacks.
On July 22, Aug. 19, and Sept. 9, there will be a market featuring over 40 Vancouver and B.C. artisans and other unique and handmade goods. The markets will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along West 11th, 13th, and 14th avenues.
Every Thursday through Aug. 24, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the east and west South Granville Plazas, located at Granville Street and West 14th Avenue and West 13th Avenue, will be turned into mini concert venues filled with music from local musicians. Dancing is encouraged!
The event will also host two free yoga sessions at Fir Street and West 10th Avenue on July 23 and Aug. 20 starting at 10 a.m. for yoga enthusiasts within the community.
Throughout the festivity, there will be Community Days filled with giant games, bonsai demonstrations, board game nights, and other activities.
Attendees can also expect a "Dîner en Blanc" event with a South Granville twist. The Supper al Fresco will turn the South Granville Plaza West into a whimsical, epicurean experience on Aug. 9 and Aug. 29 showcasing the neighbourhood's restaurants and flavours.
