Le Doux Ciel is leaving its Parq casino location in downtown Vancouver, but has opened a new space on West Broadway and has a new shop coming to SFU in Burnaby.

After five years at Parq Casino in downtown Vancouver, Le Doux Ciel is cashing out of their original location.

The pâtisserie is shutting down its space at 65 Smithe St and relocating all other operations to a new location in Fairview, while they work on opening a new cafe in Burnaby.

"While Parq will no longer be open, our other locations, including Broadway and the soon-to-open SFU store, remain available to serve you," reads the bakery's announcement on Instagram.

The new space is at 1050 W Broadway, near the intersection with Oak Street. The future space will be at 8982 University High St at SFU's Burnaby campus.

Le Doux Ciel specializes in French and Belgian-inspired baked goods while also offering afternoon tea.

The pâtisserie has been around since 2008 but didn't have a storefront until 2019 when it opened up its cafe location at Parq. Their new location on Broadway was formerly the Calm Cafe, which only lasted around a year.

At the same time, there are more changes happening at Parq. The hotel/casino is welcoming a new branded private lounge in a separate upstairs space called the Johnnie Walker Lounge.

"The Johnnie Walker Lounge adds a new level of luxury to holiday gatherings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate or client appreciation events and more," reads a press release.

The lounge will be able to host events that include games like poker or baccarat while sipping Johnnie Walker-specific drinks.
