An Osaka-based Japanese curry chain is doubling its presence in Metro Vancouver as they prep a second location operators hope will be open for business this fall.
Oretachi Curry entered the North American market in Richmond with a location in the Steveston community that opened its doors in November 2023.
Now work is underway to transform the former 700-square-foot Sushi Hub space at 4855 Main St in the Riley Park-Little Mountain area for the second Oretachi Curry.
Operators of the restaurant business shared with V.I.A. by email that the location will have 20 seats and could be open as soon as the second week of November.
The opening date will be revealed as soon as possible on Oretachi Curry's Instagram.
Oretachi deploys "a combination of over 20 spices and herbs" for its signature curry sauce, sourcing ingredients locally within B.C., though they import their "dried key ingredients, such as short-grained rice," from Japan, according to the restaurant's website.
The Oretachi menu includes selections like pork or chicken katsu (panko-coated and deep-fried cutlets) served over rice with curry sauce. They also offer a variety of curry ramen dishes, and seasonal items, like Hayashi Beef Rice.
"We look forward to serving our signature Osaka-based curry dishes to our customers in our new Vancouver branch soon!" shared operators with V.I.A.
