'We are so excited to share it': Long time Gastown restaurant relocates

After more than 20 years they've moved into a new location, not far from the original.

Anyone concerned that Brioche Ristorante and Wine Bar has shut down after 22 years needn't worry.

While their longtime home at 117 Water St now sits empty, the Italian restaurant has moved to a new location, but it's not very far away.

Earlier this month Brioche reopened at 103 Columbia St., which has been empty since Incendio Pizza left almost a decade ago.

"We have put our heart and soul into Brioche's redesign and we are so excited to share it with you," reads Brioche's website.

Brioche originally opened in 2003 when head chef and owner Eduardo Bilardello decided to start a restaurant based on the food of his Sicilian roots, including handmade pasta and a selection of Italian wines.

The doors closed on that chapter recently, and the move was made to a larger space.

"Our passion for authentic Italian cuisine remains the same, but now we have even more space to welcome you with open arms," reads a recent social media post.
