New pizza place opens up in Vancouver's West End

They also specialize in soups, including some with Persian influence

A Denman restaurant space has already been transformed into a new pizza place after the previous one at the location closed just a couple of months ago.

Hot Spot, which specializes not just in pizza-by-the-slice but also soups, has just had its grand opening earlier this week.

Currently, Hot Spot's menu is slim, but the prices are good; pizza slices are free for the rest of the week staff say, along with soup samples.

Specifics for the restaurant's permanent menu have not been revealed yet but expanded offerings will include soups inspired by Persian flavours along with the aforementioned pizza slices.

The 1168 Denman St. location, which has a view of English Bay, had been See the Sea Cafe earlier this year.

Prior to that, it had been a different pizza restaurant, called Engelsea Pizza, which opened in late 2019. Going back further, the address had been home to a couple of different cupcake cafes.

Hot Spot currently does not have an online presence. Visit the shop to score your free opening week slice and find out more.
