After years of yearning, the students, faculty, and staff of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver will have a Chipotle on campus before the end of the year.
Chipotle is moving into the former Tacomio location on the UBC campus at 6025 University Blvd.
Tacomio closed its final two locations late last year.
The brand says it is "pleased to confirm we are currently scheduled to open a new location in Vancouver this fall," according to a Chipotle spokesperson in an email to V.I.A.
Chipotle has three locations in Vancouver, and many others across the Metro Vancouver area. However, this will be the first at UBC, though students have long requested one, making their case across social media.
This April 1, UBC's Campus Nutrition got students' hopes up by posting that the well-known burrito and taco chain would be coming to campus.
