The suspect in the city's fifth homicide of 2022 has been charged with second-degree murder.
Naseb Fazil, 19, was involved in a fight that broke out outside the Gallery nightclub in Marpole in the early hours of May 23 last year.
Vancouver police officers found him alive but suffering stab wounds when they arrived. Fazil died in hospital from his injuries.
An investigation led to the arrest of Mohammed Cortes Torres, 25, on Sunday (April 30) who has now been charged with second-degree murder.
The suspect was a Surrey resident at the time of the homicide and police believe he was more recently staying on Vancouver Island.
