Travellers can get cheap flights from Vancouver to Toronto this fall.
While the summer months typically see soaring fares on the popular route connecting Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ), airfares start to taper off as the weather cools down. That said, it is best to snag your tickets early since low prices don't tend to last long.
The least expensive tickets for round-trip flights between YVR and YYZ typically cost between $130 and $385. However, they can cost much more than that, particularly during peak travel times, according to Google Flights.
Right now, Flair Airlines is offering a ticket that departs from YVR on Nov. 2 and returns about a week later from YYZ on Nov. 8 for only $116.62 including all taxes and fees. A one-way ticket costs as little as $59.
Google Flights shows the return ticket with Flair Airlines at an even lower price with third-party supplier GoToGate, which is selling the trip for only $108. However, since it is only a minor discount, it would be wise to book directly with the airline. If any problems arise, you won't have to go through a middle party.
Other cheap flights from Vancouver to Toronto
While Flair Airlines offers the lowest price on the YVR to YYZ route, there are several other low-cost options.
Lynx Air, for example, offers a return trip on the same dates for only $149 including all taxes and fees but tickets must be booked separately (purchase two one-way tickets rather than a round-trip one). The airline also offers the lowest price for Vancouver to Montreal flights this fall.
After that, WestJet offers the return journey for under $200, with prices starting at $192 for two one-way tickets booked together.
A fourth carrier, Porter, has tickets starting at $203 for return trips with two one-way tickets booked together.
