Canada's largest airlines are offering massive discounts to worldwide destinations through the spring of 2025.
Air Canada and WestJet are each running sales until Sunday, Aug. 18, with hundreds of flights including numerous options from Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
Have a look at some of the cheap options on Vancouver flights through Canada's biggest carriers.
Air Canada
Air Canada has a sale on flights between Canada and all destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean, and select sunshine destinations in the U.S.
The sale is valid on travel from now until Apr. 26, 2025, and applies to all booking classes, including Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class.
For example, a flight from YVR to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California costs $162 for a direct, one-way ticket on Sept. 3 (see slide two).
Tickets must be booked by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18.
Canada's flag carrier is also offering a sale on domestic flights, with discounts on select flights but only for Economy class tickets.
The sale is valid on travel between Aug. 27 and Dec. 15, 2024.
Tickets must be booked by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15.
Air Canada sales do not apply to code-share flights, which is when another airline is on the ticket (for example, United Airlines on a portion of the itinerary).
WestJet
The WestJet sale applies to 45 sunny destinations, including everywhere from Florida to Honolulu.
This offer is valid on WestJet wholly operated flights between Canada and Hawaii, Florida, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America.
The sale applies to tickets in the UltraBasic, Econo, Premium, and Business classes.
Travellers can also find deals on hotel and flight packages through WestJet Vacations to the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. They can also save up to $675 on select hotels in Mexico and Hawaii.
The sale is valid on travel between now and Apr. 26, 2025.
Vancouverites can also take advantage of savings on flights to Europe and Asia for travel occurring between Sept. 5, 2024, and Apr. 30, 2025.
Tickets for the WestJet sales must be booked by 10:59 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18.
The WestJet sale also does not apply to code-share flights.
