Locals can cruise from Vancouver to several bucket-list destinations in California for a bargain this fall.
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is offering a nine-night cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles on the Norwegian Jewel at a discounted rate. The itinerary includes stops in Victoria and Astoria (Oregon), Santa Barbara, San Diego, and an overnight in San Francisco.
The cruise departs from Canada Place on Oct. 29 and ends in Los Angeles on Nov. 7.
NCL is a favourite among cruisers who enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere on board, without sacrificing quality and style. There's no dress code or scheduled dining times but guests can still enjoy elegant dinners in specialty restaurants onboard.
The cruise line also offers world-class entertainment, luxurious spa facilities, and areas designated for kids and teens.
The cruise ship features some of the largest suites at sea, a spa and beauty salon, and fine dining options from Japan, Italy, Brazil and France. Passengers can also sip cocktails in 13 bars and lounges, swim in three pools, soak in six hot tubs, play tennis, or watch films in the movie theatre.

Norwegian Cruise Line from Vancouver to Los Angeles
NCL is currently offering its Sail Away Inside promotion which includes a discount on the second guest, free cruise fare for the third and fourth guests, and free excursions for the Pacific Coast Wine Country: San Francisco and Astoria cruise (see slide two).
The lead-in room category, an interior stateroom, costs $2,660.34 with the promotion for 70 per cent off the second guest. The first guest pays $1,750.40 and the second pays $909.94; it also includes free excursions (see slide three).
Not only does that cost include your transportation on a beautiful five-star vessel, but it also includes meals, entertainment, snacks, and lodging. The only thing it doesn’t factor in is alcohol, but you may opt to purchase a drink package that can reduce the cost of your per-drink spending.
Flights heading back to Vancouver from Los Angeles start at a jaw-dropping $36 including tax in the fall on numerous dates with Flair Airlines.
For example, a flight departing Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Nov. 8 costs $47 including tax (see slide four). This option provides one night to enjoy the City of Angels before returning home.
