Hot deal alert: You can fly direct Vancouver to Cancun for only $141

Flights departing within the next month offer the best value to the sun-soaked destination.

Travellers looking for low-cost flights to destinations other than the U.S. can find several low-cost options on airfare from Vancouver to Cancun, Mexico departing this spring.

Flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Cancun International Airport (CUN) cost under $150 for direct options on select dates starting in March and continuing into April.

A one-way, direct flight with Flair Airlines departing Vancouver on Sunday, March 29 costs $141 including tax (see slide one).

This price is considered "low" for economy or $60 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights (see slide two).

Travellers who don't want to fly with Flair will pay significantly more. Direct, one-way flights with Air Canada start at $334 and $445 with WestJet on the same day.

Round-trip, direct flights from Vancouver to Cancun with Flair Airlines

Flair Airlines also offers the best value on return trips from YVR to the popular Mexican destination.

Round-trip, direct flights are a steal for folks who can book trips departing in March.

A few date combinations departing in March and April cost under $400. After that, most of the cheapest options start between $500 and $600.

For example, a flight departing Vancouver on Saturday, March 8 and returning from Cancun on Saturday, March 15 costs $355 including tax (see slide three).
