Vancouverites looking for a luxury experience on the high seas can sail from Vancouver to Hawaii on a first-class ship this fall.
The nine-night Hawaiian sailing from Canada Place departs on Sept. 22 and spends five days at sea before making a pair of stops on the Big Island. The second stop is an overnight, allowing travellers to enjoy excursions in magical Hilo. The city is located near Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, which is home to two of the world’s most active volcanoes: Mauna Loa and Kīlauea.
The final stop on the itinerary is Honolulu, Hawaii. Travellers can fly home after disembarking or opt to stay for a couple of days on Oahu to enjoy its sun-soaked beaches, including Waikiki.
The unique profile of the Diamond Head (Lē‘ahi) crater sits prominently near the eastern edge of Waikiki’s coastline. Hawaii’s most recognized landmark is known for its historic hiking trail, stunning coastal views, and military history. Diamond Head State Monument encompasses over 475 acres, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater.
The Celebrity Solstice is a five-and-a-half-star cruise ship with three swimming pools, a basketball court, a jogging track, a fitness centre, a movie theatre, a spa, a video arcade, bars, and lounges.
The cruise line is touted for its modern decor, luxurious amenities, warm hospitality, and high-end dining experiences.

Celebrity cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii
Travellers can choose between interior, oceanview, and verandah (balcony) staterooms. Unlike other cruises, the price difference between these three stateroom categories isn't significant; base fares are only about $50 to $60 more per person (see slide two).
Cruise passengers looking for an elevated sailing experience can also choose between Concierge Class, AquaClass, and the Retreat. These options include exclusive access to special lounges, dedicated stateroom attendants, butlers, special amenities, and more.
An interior stateroom for two people is US$1,729.54, which converts to roughly C$2,375.73 or C$1,187.86 per person. This breaks down to a per-person, per-diem cost of approximately C$139.99 (see slide three).
The price includes all meals, entertainment, and accommodation on the voyage.
Flights home to Vancouver from Honolulu with one stopover start at $232 while direct options start at $365. Travellers should pick options that depart later in the day since they will need time to get off the ship and go through security at the airport (see slide four).
