Looking to a catch a flight across Canada?
You'd be wise to book tonight, and before midnight.
Swoop, WestJet's discount carrier, is offering 24-Hour Flyday Fares today, Friday, Oct. 25. However, these sale fares will only last until 11:59 p.m. tonight (MT), so interested travellers will have to plan accordingly.
What kind of prices are available?
Swoop is offering deals from Abbotsford to London, Ontario or Winnipeg for a jaw-dropping one-way fare of only $59 CAD including tax. For those who prefer to fly into Hamilton, Ontario, the deal is still an extremely reasonable $99 CAD including tax.
Perhaps most impressive of all, however, is the one-way fare to Edmonton. Guests can cross the Albertan border via Swoop for only $29 CAD including tax - wow!
And while these domestic fares are very inexpensive, Swoop is also offering an attractive one-way fare to Mazatlan, Mexico for only $159 CAD, which isn't bad at all. Return fares cost roughly double that price, and therefore these tickets are some of the lowest ever available.
Since Swoop flies out of Abbotsford, Vancouverites have to make a trip into the Fraser Valley in order to catch their flights. As a result, many locals skip the low-cost option because they don’t want to spend the extra time or money getting to the airport.
For those who are looking to save, but don’t want to spend big bucks on a cab or leaving their car at the airport, there is an alternative: Reliable Bus. Find out more information about the cost-effective transit option here.
Note: While the low-cost carrier is an extremely affordable alternative, it is worthwhile to note that there are a number of additional costs. For one, luggage will cost extra, as will selecting your own seat or even speaking to an operator. As such, it is worthwhile to factor in what you need to bring, or if you want to sit in a particular spot.
