BC parent? Here are 10 ways to spend that $40 per day from the government #bced

If you're a parent with a kid or two enrolled in public school in BC by now you've surely signed up for the $40 per day from the government while this labour impasse drags on. You're likely spending it on childcare or are trying to figure out how to donate it to the teachers in support of them, but in case you needed help figuring out how to use that money (and keep the kids engaged) we've compiled this handy list of ideas for you.

1. Get your bikes tuned up and go for a bike ride. HERE is a good place to go.

2. Get your car filled up with gas and go for a car ride. Into the wilderness. Maybe to one of THESE places.

3. Visit the Museum of Vancouver. 2 adults and 3 youth can get in for $38. If the strike goes for two days and you have one kid you'll have enough to buy a family membership for the entire year, it's $80.

4. Go bouldering. THE HIVE just East of Main is a great place to learn.

5. Buy some books. THIS ONE from the Knowledge Network could be a good place to start.

6. Head out to Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver and pet some headbutting goats. HERE!

7. Take in a Vancouver Canadians baseball game. They're now into the playoffs! HERE.

8. Attend a class (with or without the kids) at COLLAGE COLLAGE.

9. The Aquarium! Their recent expansion has made this experience even more awesome than ever. If the strike goes for 5 days you could buy an annual Family Membership for $185. HERE.

10. Go to dollar store and buy a ton of random costume making supplies, set them up on a table and let the kids have at it and exercise their creativity. (SORRY NO LINK!)
