This holiday season we've partnered with our friends at Granville Island on a series of videos where we're sharing some of the most awesome stuff happening down there. Here are episodes 1, 2 and 3 of 4. While we were filming I learned a ton about this gem of False Creek so over 12 days we're also bringing you inside with a series of blog posts.
The Public Market has been called the "crown jewel" of this gem. It's the place I was most familiar with before we embarked on this series, a go-to on the seawall; my family and I ride our bikes to it from the Olympic Village during the summer months, get groceries and watch the pigeons (and the people). In the winter months our bike trips are less frequent and we take advantage of the free parking that abounds, as well as a few eats that are either seasonal and only show up around this time or simply go best in these chilly winter months. Such as...
Handmade butternut squash ravioli!
Chili and gravy!
Fudge (FUDGE!!!)!
Masala spice tea!
And last but not least, Kazu Coppa cured with 100-mile sake made on Granville Island (and which we featured HERE)!
These are all available at the market right now. As in, get your butt down there and get some!
