Get it while it's hot: Vancouver's top spot for Nashville Hot Chicken is heading out to New Westminster's Steel & Oak for a one-weekend pop-up.
DL Chicken will have a two-day limited menu satellite in the Royal City, slinging their legendary Hot Chicken thigh sandos, two-piece fried chicken combos with sides (slaw or mac salad) to be enjoyed with fresh brews on Steel & Oak's new patio.
Fear not, food fans, you will be able to customize your chicken with DL's heat scale, which runs from mild, medium, hot, extrahot, to “A Side of Milk” (gulp!).
The pop-up takes place on Saturday, August 22 (noon to 8 p.m.) and Sunday, August 23 (noon to 4 p.m.), and orders will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
DL Chicken and Steel & Oak hint the pop-up may also have some surprises in store for guests, too.
"Jordan (Foss of Steel & Oak) and I are super stoked to bring DL to New West,” says Doug Stephen, co-owner of DL Chicken Shack. “Steel & Oak’s new patio is great and I heard they’re upping the sound system. Beer and fried chicken couldn’t be a better combo. We look forward to meeting some new faces!”
