Travellers can take advantage of an extension on significant sales on flights from and to Vancouver with Air Canada and WestJet.
Air Canada extended its offer on domestic and transborder flights, allowing B.C. travellers to enjoy a larger discount on select North American flights.
WestJet also extended its sales on domestic and transborder flights and increased the discount to 25 per cent off select routes.
WestJet and Air Canada also have sales on flights worldwide and key sun destinations, although the savings aren't specified (unless travellers book a vacation package).
These deals are for flights connecting Vancouver International Airport (YVR) with cities across North America.
Air Canada
Canada's flag carrier extended its offer for 20 per cent off select domestic flights and trips across the border for travel between Oct. 22, 2024, and April 16, 2025.
The sale applies to Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy (Basic, Standard, Flex, comfort) tickets.
- Travellers can get 20 per cent off travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
- Travellers can get 10 per cent off travel on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
The sale only applies to select destination combinations listed on the airline's sale page. Some popular options include flights from Vancouver to Charlottetown, Deer Lake, Fredericton, Halifax, Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Sault Ste. Marie, St. John's, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Timmins, or Toronto.
The following blackout dates apply: Dec. 18-23, and Dec. 26, 2024, to Jan. 5, 2025, Feb. 13-18, March 7-9, and March 14-16, 2025.
Tickets must be booked by Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. with the promotional code RT3KNH91.
Air Canada is also discounting flights to other destinations within Canada, in the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean for travel until May 31, 2025.
The carrier does not state the discount amount for this sale but tickets must be on wholly Air Canada-operated flights and booked before Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m.
WestJet
WestJet has increased the discount on select domestic and transborder flights from 20 to 25 per cent for travel between Oct. 22, 2024, and April 16, 2025.
The sale applies to tickets booked in the UltraBasic and Econo classes.
- Travellers can get 25 per cent off travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
- Travellers can get 20 per cent off travel on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
Travellers now have several days to browse flight options across Canada, as the carrier has also extended the deadline to Saturday, Oct. 19.
The following blackout dates apply: Dec.18-23 and 26-31; Jan. 1-5, Feb. 13-18, March 7-9, March 14-16, March 20-21, and March 23, 2025.
WestJet is also offering a sale on over 100 destinations worldwide for travel until May 31, 2025, but it does not include specific discounts.
The sale applies to tickets booked in the UltraBasic, Econo, and Premium classes.
The deadline to book tickets for the global sale hasn't changed; travellers must book those tickets by Oct. 15 at 10:59 p.m.
