While on the Island I had the great pleasure of meeting with Masa, the founder of Artisan Sake Maker. In 2009 he embarked on a quest to grow organic rice in the Fraser Valley of BC, marking it the first sake rice production in Canadian history. It’s now also the most northerly rice production region in the world.
